چکیده

A 62-year-old man with chronic myelomonocytic leukaemia presented increasing dyspnoea one month after a pericardiocentesis. Chest MDCT scan (Figs. 1 and 2) showed left ventricle pouching of contrast material, suggestive of pseudoaneurysm (probably iatrogenic), confirmed with trans-thoracic echo-cardiogram (Video 1). Surgical repair successfully closed the ventricle-pseudoa-neurysm connection. Fig. 1. Coronal (a) and sagittal (b) thin-slab MIP image from non-ECG-gated CT scan of the thorax showing the left ventricle pseudoaneurysm. It probably had iatrogenic origin. Fig. 2. Panoramic view coronal volume rendering image showing the pseu-doaneurysm and the connection with left ventricle. The reconstruction gives an immediate idea of lesion appearance.

Overview of left ventricular outpouchings on cardiac magnetic resonance imaging.

Left ventricular outpouchings commonly include aneurysm, pseudoaneurysm, and diverticulum and are now being increasingly detected on imaging. Distinction between these entities is of prime importance to guide proper management as outcomes for these entities differ substantially. Chest radiograph is usually nonspecific in their diagnosis. Echocardiography, multi-detector computed tomography eval...

medical conditions and in most cases, are found incidentally (1-7). Although the majority of cases are asymptomatic, some may cause coronary steal. For several decades, the conventional coronary angiography has been the best diagnostic modality for identifying coronary artery fistulas. However, with recent advances, the coronary angiography was replaced by the development of an electrocardiogra...

Subannular left ventricular pseudoaneurysm following mitral valve replacement

Delayed development of left ventricular pseudoaneurysm is a rare late complication of mitral valve prosthesis and requires early surgical intervention. Here we describe the occurrence of such a complication diagnosed 6-months after the valve surgery in a 60-year-old lady. The anatomic delineation of subannular left ventricular pseudoaneurysm using multiple imaging modalities including CT angiog...

Giant Left Ventricular Pseudoaneurysm Two Years after Blunt Chest Trauma

Left ventricular pseudoaneurysm is an extremely rare condition. Here we present a case of a giant left ventricular pseudoaneurysm that developed 2 years after a blunt chest trauma. The patient presented with shortness of breath during exercise. The diagnosis was initially made using chest X-ray and then it was confirmed with echocardiography and computed tomography. The patient underwent succes...
